Opening 2026 with a bang! New York’s Hannah Cohen and Sam Evian

After dropping what Rolling Stone has called “one of the best indie releases of the year” and blowing away the crowd at King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s Field of Vision festival in Colorado in August, US singer-songwriter Hannah Cohen is heading to Australia for her first ever tour. And she’s stopping by Anglesea with her band and longtime collaborator and producer Sam Evian as part of The Flying Cloud Tour.

The tour, named after Flying Cloud Recordings, the mid-’70s home and studio in the Catskills where Hannah and Sam have hosted and recorded artists such as Big Thief, Maria Zardoya, Blonde Redhead, Clairo and Palehound, will see the pair perform songs from Hannah’s critically acclaimed album Earthstar Mountain, as well as a set of favourites from Sam’s albums such as Plunge and Time to Melt. The pair will also join one another on stage, bringing the collaborative spirit of Flying Cloud to life for Australian audiences.

The exquisite Earthstar Mountain, marks Hannah’s first album in more than five years. Produced and co-performed by Sam Evian this luminous reflection on nature, time and transformation is full of Hannah’s signature intimacy and elegance. It’s been on high rotation at The Sound Doctor HQ and has also been wowing the critics since its release in March 2025.

“A warm, bittersweet, gently paced folk-pop album that glows with melodic grace and emotional depth.” The Song Bar

“An effortlessly cool and melodic journey.” Backseat Mafia

“Timeless and modern.” NPR Music

“Psych-folk perfection…Cohen’s voice is lush and irresistible.” Paste Magazine

Alongside the tour news, Hannah unveils the second instalment of her newly announced Flying Cloud Tapes series, sharing a live performance video for her song ‘Summer Sweat’. Paste Magazine praised the track as “one of Cohen’s best pursuits yet.” The performance features Sam Evian on guitar, Meg Lui on harmonies and vocals, Núria Graham on bass, Santiago Mijares on acoustic guitar, and Sean Mullins on drums.

This is Hannah’s first Australian tour, and after listening to the album for most of 2025, we can’t wait to experience these songs live. Expect a night of soothing, dreamy, glittering tunes in the first Sound Doctor gig for 2026
