June Music Not to Miss

The three members of the Band Bonny Doon in a garden around a piano

We’re bringing you one of the hottest indie-folk acts on the US scene on Friday 14 June – Bonny Doon. It’s the band’s first trip Down Under and they are pumped at the prospect. “Playing for people on the other side of the world from us is a dream come true”, guitarist and vocalist for the band Bobby Colombo said. “When we formed this band 10 years ago a lot of what we were influenced by was the 2010’s Australian punk scene. If you told me then that we’d get the chance to go on tour in Australia I wouldn’t have believed you,”

Guest support artist for the show is Jess Ribeiro – no stranger to Sound Doctor audiences after her stand out set supporting Olympia in 2019. She’s been busy since then and comes to Anglesea with a brand-new album that’s got a lot of buzz about it.

The Music and Rolling Stone both gave it four stars and Double J said: Jess Ribeiro has cemented herself as one of the Australian undergrounds most engaging and unpredictable creative forces”.

Together Jess and Bonny Doon promise a sweet night of songs and pure joy. It’s also a rare chance to see international talent without leaving the Surf Coast! And if you’re under 30 there’s even more reason to get excited as tickets are just $30 for you.
