An Audience with Queenie

You’re invited to a night out with Queenie as she brings her new album and a seven-piece band to The Sound Doctor. Rolling Stone recently described her live show as “equal parts theatre, thunder and attitude”, so this is definitely one to get excited about!

Queenie may have begun as an alter ego emerging from the ashes of heart break, but with her sophomore album, she is no longer stepping into a persona, she is stepping into herself. Fully realised, fully present and having claimed her throne. Pleasance defies something far more elusive than categorisation and certainly denies expectation. What emerges instead is a body of work that feels less like a statement and more like a state – one of clarity, of stillness, of hard-won emotional coherence.

Queenie’s music has never sat comfortably within the confines of genre. Whilst you can find folk, country and art pop within her sound, it is so much more than that. With echoes of the mythic storytelling of Kate Bush, the textural depth of Bon Iver and the emotional magnitude of Florence Welch, this powerhouse performer creates an evocative world within her songs.

Budjerah tours his debut album to Anglesea

We’re excited to announce our final show for 2026 – and it is the angelic, velvet tenor voice of the hugely talented star on the rise Budjerah, hitting The Sound Doctor stage on Sun 1 November.

A Coodjinburra man of the Bundjalung nation, Budjerah is already well known for his soul-stirring, genre-defying fusion of contemporary R&B, classic gospel and high-energy pop. From opening stadiums for Ed Sheeran in 2023 to performances at the Australian Open, the AFL Grand Final and performing alongside Kylie Minogue, he continues to cement his place as one of Australia’s most celebrated young artists. With more than 60 million career streams to-date and platinum single ‘Therapy’ achieving over 18.8 million streams on Spotify, he is on the cusp of becoming a household name, so this show offers a rare chance to see him perform with his band up close and personal – before he hits megastar status .

Gentleman is Budjerah’s deeply personal debut album, shaped by nearly four years of growth, self-discovery and life on the road. The record reflects his journey from a young dreamer to one of Australia’s most exciting artists, with each song capturing a chapter of that evolution. As Budjerah shares, “Every song in this album holds a piece of me. I hope little Budjerah is proud.”

The Gentleman Tour marks an exciting new chapter for Budjerah, bringing the acclaimed new album to the stage alongside fan favourites and songs that have made him one of the country’s most exciting young artists. Don’t miss this exquisite Sound Doctor show.
